New Operator to Reopen Carole Ann Wald Pool at St. Ed

At Monday’s city council meeting, Troy Emmons of West Coast Aquatics confirmed  that they have signed an operating agreement with State Parks to reopen the pool at St. Ed.  West Coast is hiring staff and working with State Parks to repair the pool and get ready  for a reopening date near Memorial Day Weekend.

Northshore School District faces $7 million in Budget Cuts

The budget challenges facing Northshore are shared by every school district in Washington State. Daily there are news reports of districts cutting millions of dollars and dozens of staff members.

Seattle Times:Legislature passes bill allowing early tolls on Highway 520 bridge

The House concurred with the Senate today, by a 52 to 43 vote, on a bill that allows for early tolling on the Highway 520 bridge. The toll money would be used to help pay for replacing the bridge, which could collapse in an earthquake and is vulnerable [...]
