Kenmore Mayor David Baker rated “Very Good” by Municipal League
Kenmore Mayor David Baker received a rating of “very good” in candidate ratings released July 19, 2010, by the Municipal League of King County, — a higher rating than his opponent, Maralyn Chase.
Baker said he was gratified by the rating. “As Mayor of Kenmore, I have a proven record of putting families, jobs, and communities first. If elected as State Senator, I’ll continue to work to meet the needs of families and communities. And just as in Kenmore, I will do it without raising taxes.” Baker has been on the Kenmore City Council since 2004.
Baker added, “Unlike Maralyn Chase, I oppose a state income tax. She voted to overturn voter-approved spending limits, and she voted for the largest spending increase in state history. The voters know that spending has gotten out of control in Olympia - it’s time for a change.”
The Municipal League, a nonpartisan, nonprofit volunteer organization, describes its mission as promoting “open, effective, and accountable government.” The Municipal League ratings are available online at http://www.munileague.org/candidate-evaluations/previous-ratings/2010/king-county-executive.
