Kenmore City Council voted unanimously April 19 to pursue an engineering study of the closed Carole Ann Wald Pool in St. Edward State Park.

The Carole Ann Wald Pool Grand Opening begins at 1pm for Ribbon Cutting and Cake, followed by a FREE open swim from 2-8pm. Prior to June 6th, the pool will be operate a pre-opening schedule from May 26, June 5th 2009. Hours are 6am to 9:30 pm M-F, Sat 7am-8pm and Sun. 9-7.

At Monday’s city council meeting, Troy Emmons of West Coast Aquatics confirmed that they have signed an operating agreement with State Parks to reopen the pool at St. Ed. West Coast is hiring staff and working with State Parks to repair the pool and get ready for a reopening date near Memorial Day Weekend.

Swimmers will be getting back into the water at Carol Ann Wald Memorial Pool in St. Edward State Park in Kenmore.
After assessing proposals from potential new pool operators, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission regional director Don Hoch said the commission arrived at a decision Thursday.
